To-date, my best run down the dragstrip, has been 12.53 @ 108.9. I'm hoping that in 2008, I will be able to get that down another tenth, or two. I will also have the truck on the dyno, to see what improvements have been realized as a result of the changes that have been made, to-date. I suspect somewhere in the 435HP & 510TQ area..
2001 F150 Lightning - Dyno Charts
I try to use the Dyno as much as possible; to track the improvements made to the truck. Having said that, the following article is very informative, and helps to put things in prospective. Here is a quote "It is time that people stopped accepting dyno numbers as gospel. A dyno is only a tool. As such, they have the potential to not only provide real benefit, but to be misused. It is best to keep this in mind."
Below is my first trip to DynoPower, in Toronto (I have left their contact information on the scan, and highly recommend them). Bone stock (with a 1/2 hour cool down before beginning), the truck pulled a max of 355HP and 426TQ. The second run was immediately after, to measure the power lost due to engine heat. The numbers dropped a little bit, to 344HP and 417TQ. After a brief cool down period (with a big-ass fan) the K&N filter was installed in the otherwise completely stock truck. Numbers went up, to 360HP and 430TQ. Click on the graph below to enlarge.
Well, I've been back to the dyno, a couple of times, since being stock. This is where you'll always find my most recent dyno results (always from DynoPower, for consistency). On the street program, the truck pulled a max of 403HP and 479TQ (Run 14). WIth the switch flipped onto the race side, the numbers went up, to 423HP and 494TQ! Notice the nice safe air/fuel ratios, for both programs. As always, Johnny Lightning provides a top notch program, and great customer service. Click on the graph below to enlarge.
What do you do when 4lbs of boost isn't enough??? Well, You swap the pulley out, for more boost, of course ;) I added the Bassani mids/high flow cats, went to Johnny Lightning and had a safe tune built for my combo with a 6lb lower, and the truck pulled a max of 441HP and 531TQ! Notice the nice safe air/fuel ratios, for both programs. As always, Johnny Lightning provides a top notch program, and great customer service. Click on the graph below to enlarge.
