Welcome to QWKSVT.com
Welcome to my little place on the 'net - I'm Mike. As you may have guessed, I have a passion for driving and more specifically, driving American-made automobiles. Partially because, at 6'6", I fit better in them, but mostly because there is nothing more exhilarating than the rush caused by a V8 engine roaring to life, spinning the rear wheels as they hunt for traction. You can read all about my vehicles (past and present) on their respective pages within the site. When I'm not out driving or busy with work, I enjoy working with computers, playing video games, photography, basketball, golf, watching movies, and listening to music.
For now, this page will be focused on my garage (not the cleanest around, I know), including the following vehicles:
You can probably tell that my biggest weakness is my "toys" and the ongoing need to have more toys, based on the list above ;) As time goes on, I will update the page to include additional information about my other hobbies and interests.
The SVT Lightning is the first vehicle I ever bought, brand new... One test drive, and I knew I had to have one - it conjures up such raw and visceral emotions - It's a blast to drive... Figuratively and literally! The Lightning is my summer toy... It only sees light on the nicest of days. The truck is a beast, and provides more smiles per gallon than any other vehicle out there! ;)
On May 26, 2004, I unloaded my 1995 Cougar XR7, and replaced it with a 2003 Mercury Marauder. The big black car moves nicely, and provides all the comforts one would expect from a mid-range luxury car. It has taken the role of my daily driver, but that doesn't mean I can't have fun with it!
The Z28, on the other hand, is a long way away from being completed. It currently resides in one half of my Grand Parents' garage. I really wished it would have been finished, or at least out on the road, by now... But, as with any other hobby, my two biggest holdups are time and money. If anyone would like to give me some of their time, or - even better - their money, I'd gladly accept. Short of that happening, it's still going to be a long road before I'm done.
On January 16, 2008, we took possession of a 2001 Ford Escape XLT (4x4 V6). This is the wife's car... I expect that the stock stereo will find its way into a cardboard box, where it belongs, but other than that, I'm not likely to have too much fun, here.
This site is a constant work in progress. QWKSVT.com went online in late November, 2002 and has been under continuous expansion and development since. I have seen many different layouts - I seem to get bored with the design every few months and overhaul the whole damn thing... If you notice any errors, please drop me a line and let me know. If you've made you way here, please take some time to check everything out, and fire off your thoughts to me. Let me know what you think (of the site, and the content). I welcome your feedback...
